Hacker News Refresher Tool
Hacker News Refresher Tool is a simple Chrome extension that displays Hacker News in real-time as you browse through the sites. Each time the extension is started, it fetches a new set of headlines from Hacker News and displays them in a quick-refresh view. It will only reload the page's index if the extension isn't running in a tab.
This allows you to keep up with breaking news and stories even if you don't have time to sit through the lengthy video coverage. When you're finished reading a story, just close the tab and it'll return to its default state.
You can set a custom refresh interval if you want, but you will need to use the settings in the app to do so. You can also choose to toggle a subtle animation of the YC logo upon a successful refresh. This will let you know that your page is being refreshed.
This is a Chrome extension so it works on most web browsers. It will not work on some older versions of Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, and Android.
